How can your diet reduce episodes of gout?

Gout is a type of arthritis that happens because of a build up of uric acid. The uric acid is accumulated around the joints especially in the big toe. There are foods to avoid that cause this build up, such as citrus fruits, onions, garlic, tomato sauce, chocolate and fatty foods. Here are five things you can do to reduce the cause of uric acid build up.

  1. Increase fibrous foods

Fibrous foods reduce uric acid along within managing stomach activities. All the fibrous food absorbs uric acid in the stomach and then eliminates it though the kidneys.

  1. Use olive oil

Butter or the vegetable oil used in cooking food can be the cause of gout. Use olive oil in the compressed form. It is the best to minimize the level of uric acid within the body.

  1. Vitamin C

Vitamin C supplements can minimise the uric acid within the body. Eat vegetables with vitamin C, but avoid citrus fruits and vegetables.

  1. Bakery items

All the bakery items like cakes, pastries, and donuts contain saturated fats. These saturated fats and the sugar increase the level of uric acid.

  1. Cherries

Cherries are the best fruit to minimize uric acid. During a gout attack, you should take 30 to 40 cherries within an hour. It will stabilize your uric acid and you will eliminate the painful situation.
